There's just something about the unity a phone system can forge. The right one doesn't just facilitate the connections between your customer-facing team members and your customers, but also enables better cross-departmental communications. A top-of-line, future-proofed system might even help employees carry their communications knowledge from remote location to remote location.
Mitel's latest release, the 6900 series, is a great example.
Mitel's New 6900 Series: Working Through the Benefits
The 6900 is more than just a great excuse to invest in a new phone system. It offers never-before-seen features and promotes a true mobile-first workforce, explains Jim Tynan, VP of Sales at Twinstate.

Let's review the advancements.
What your teams are likely to notice first are the all-color displays — no more monochrome. Then, they'll probably see that Mitel's motto about working mobile first holds true; these phones sync with your mobile device, so you can share contacts and call logs even when you're working in a remote office or on the road, and so that your mobile calls can come straight to your wireless, Bluetooth handset. The 6900 series is designed to complement MiCollab, keeping your people connected to one another regardless of where they work.
The built-in USB ports, some powered and some not, allow users to connect the devices they need to connect, and, in the case of powered ports, to charge their phones using their handsets. The company also offers a whole series of USB-connected accessories and additional services related to those accessories.
The series features three phone types: the 6920, 6930 and 6940, ranging from general purpose to power user. Even the 6920, the general purpose IP phone, includes mobile device integration through an optional USB Bluetooth dongle that allows users to access mobile phone features (such as contact list) from their desk phones. The 6920 also provides advanced HD audio for a better speaking and hearing experience for your users and your customers. Overall, the wide-band voice codec provides much higher voice quality.
Because Mitel focuses on creating standardization (such as the USB port), developing a common handset to be used across platforms is a clear trajectory. That's a much better economy of scale, says Tynan.
If your business is already using or plans to use the MiVoice business platform, choosing the latest series of handsets is a natural progression. Further, remember that bridging disparate platforms to give your users the same end user experience regardless of their system is a great way to foster more productive collaboration and mobility. Using MiCollab and a common handset can start to create that bridge.
So these new phones offer movement (wireless Bluetooth handset), integration, greater operability, higher voice quality, hearing aid compatibility, USB accessories, power over ethernet and so much more. For businesses that are looking at making a move into VoIP, the new 6900 series handsets offer the highest level of quality and feature set available. For businesses that were early VoIP adapters, it may be time for a refresh and to take advantage of devices that offer color displays, self-labeling buttons, Bluetooth and mobile device integration, plus a much higher quality voice experience — all features which the 6900 series provides.
