This month, Gartner released its annual Magic Quadrant for Unified Communications (UC) Report. Mitel and Microsoft, Twinstate Technologies® partners, and Cisco ranked in the “Leaders” category for enterprise UC, excelling in vision and execution.
“It’s evident that the three in the lead has a clear cloud solution,” said Jim Tynan, VP of Sales for Twinstate. “Despite the fact that 70% of UC is premise-based, those vendors who don’t offer a cloud solution are diminishing in the marketplace and are no longer seen as the leaders. Avaya and Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise being left out of this year’s Magic Quadrant is proof that cloud-based Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) is where UC is moving.”
According to a recent TechTarget article, Mike Fasciani, a Gartner analyst and one of the authors of the Report said: “On premises is still the most common deployment model, especially in large enterprises. But, clearly, the growth is in the cloud.”
Securing its position for four years in a row, Mitel gets high marks in this year’s Report for its competitively-priced solutions, flexible provisioning models, and architectures, success selling to specific vertical segments, and its increase in API development. In the process of acquiring ShoreTel, Mitel continues to expand its foothold in the cloud-based UC space via acquisitions, with Gartner’s Fasciani predicting Mitel will go head to head with Cisco as its main competitor in this space.
A Mitel partner for more than 40 years, we’re confident Mitel will continue to dominate cloud-based unified communications, and we congratulate Mitel for its “Leader” ranking in the 2017 Gartner Magic Quadrant Report for Unified Communications. The capabilities that will continue to have an effect on market success revolve around mobility, user experience, interoperability and offerings that have broad appeal to a diverse audience, said Gartner in this CRN article. Our suite of hosted, as well as hybrid, UC solutions powered by Mitel brings these capabilities direct to our customers.
“With the consolidation we’ve already seen in the market, certain players have decided to leave all together, and others have decided to get out while they can. There are no indicators that this trend towards UC cloud communications will stop. It looks like the three big players will be Mitel, Microsoft and Cisco,” said Jim Tynan. “Twinstate is in a great position to leverage our experience in the VoIP and UC marketplace to help deliver impactful solutions for our customers, whether they be premise-based or cloud.
